The inaugural function of Kuwait City Mar Thoma Vacation Bible School was held on 8th June at Marina Hall Jleeb Al Shoukh . Very Rev K.O.Philipose, Vicar of Kuwait City Mar thoma Parish auspiciously inaugurated the VBS by lighting the ceremonial lamp . The eminent guests of honors were, the director of VBS Rev. Promod MathewThomas and Vice President of the parish Adv. P . John Thomas .
The Programme commenced with the melodious rendition of prayer song by the VBS Choir lead by Mr. Mathew Varkey and Ms. Ancy Achamma Alex . Mr. P M Cherian lead the prayer. The General convener of the VBS Mr. George Alexander , welcomed the gathering . It is a relishing moment to enjoy and cherish when all the teachers , volunteers and the office bearers of the parish, lead by the quests came on to stage in procession with lighted candles and they pledged to spread the message of harmony and brother hood, that Jesus preached, to the younger minds. Mrs Lila Zachariah Convener of VBS 2011 handed over the VBS torch to Mr. George Alexander, convener of VBS 2012 which was a symbolic representation to uphold the tradition to spread the divine message from generation to generations through the vacation Bible school. During the inaugural function the audience were mesmerized by the enthralling performance of the senior students as they presented the theme of the VBS - ‘GET SET GO”.
Messages from Rev. Promod Mathew Thomas and Adv. John Thomas were received by the audience with thunderous applause as they were thought provoking.
The function brought sheer joy and happiness to the parents who felt a sense of satisfaction and gratitude to God Almighty for another glorious event which is certain to leave an indeligible mark in the history of Kuwait City Mar thoma Parish. Mr. Jacob Thomas , Head Master proposed the vote of thanks. The VBS will continue for ten days and this will be yet another memorable occasion for more than 600 students, 80 teachers and 30 volunteers of the VBS.
