Meeting with our Metropolitan

Our Parish representatives met our Metropolitan Thirumeni on 25^th Wednesday 4pm at  Ahmadi and discussed various issues regarding  Kuwait Mar Thoma Parish. The meeting was fruitful and graceful.

Sunday School: Summer Vacation

Sunday School will remain closed for Summer vacation from 10th June till 2nd September 2011 (both dates inclusive) and will resume after summer vacation on 09th September 2011.Vacation Bible School (VBS) will commence on 10th June 2011.

Mr. Abraham Issac (Aby) 21years, son of Mr. Issac Abraham Coimbatore has died in an accident at Manipal.  We the members of the Kuwait Mar Thoma Parish share our grief with family members on the sad demise of  Aby. We continue to pray that the Almighty Lord comfort and console the bereaved family in the days ahead.

Is Protest Un-Christian?

Those minority, who support the dissolution of Kuwait Marthoma Parish, are spreading an accusation that the action of majority, who protest unjustifiable decision of the Church leadership, is delivering a wrong message to our children.  As per them, the laity has to submit to the decisions of Church leaders, whatsoever it be, as inherent discipline of Christian community.

Criticism is a positive way to refine. It is human nature to justify own thoughts and action without considering its impact on others. An unbiased analysis of the merits and demerits helps to rethink and correct mistakes, if any. So any action in this direction cannot be treated as  indiscipline but rather as a creative approach to eliminate mistakes, which can cause chaos. Difference in opinion cannot be termed as indiscipline.

(Short Story and Poetry) (Malayalam)

Topic: "Idam Nashtapeddunnavar"

Rules and Regulations:

      1. The short story should not exceed 2 A4 size pages. The poem should be limited to 24 lines.

      2. The entry should reach the Mar Thoma Yuvadeepam Editor on or before May 30th 2011.

      3. The entries should be original and not published anywhere else earlier.

      4. Anyone can participate irrespective of religion, caste or age.

      5. The best entry will receive a cash prize and a Certificate and will subsequently be published in the Yuvadeepam.

      6. The envelopes with the entries should have "Mar Thoma Yuvadeepam Award 2011" written on top.

The Dissolution of Kuwait Mar Thoma Parish and it's aftermath

Ever since the dissolution of Kuwait Mar Thoma Parish, we have passed through more than four months of uncertainty. Majority, who oppose dissolution, are worshiping independently and the minority who support it are in newly formed Parishes. No response from leadership for a peaceful settlement is felt, despite efforts from protestors. In view of this, an open appeal to all concerned, Clergy and laity, who are divided as pro or anti to the dissolution, to look back and evaluate its merits and demerits.
