Zechariah Chap 5 describe the vision which zechariah had, in which he sees a flying scroll. God’s angel then explains to him the meaning of the scroll that it puts a curse on every one who steals and tell lies. This scroll has writings on both side , the writing on one sides tells about the destruction of those who steal and the writing on the other side tells the destruction that befall on those who lie. The Lord All –Powerful has said ‘’ I am sending this scroll into the house of everyone who is a robber or tells lies in my name, and it will remain there until every piece of wood and stone in that house crumbles.’’

Weeping Marthomites – Your Days of Purim is not far off
The Word Purim has its origin to the word Pur which means lot . Purim is the days of celebration of Jews in commemoration of the great victory they had from their arch enemy, Haman and his group. The history of this could be traced to the books of Esther in Bible. King Xerxes of Persia reigned in the citadel of Susa and Haman held a very high position of honor in the whole of kingdom, he was 2nd only to the King. Mordecai was a Jew and was an official in the palace.
This Haman was a hardcore enemy of Jews . He deeply hated Mordecai and conspired to get a decree from King to destroy all the Jews, including Mordecai, on a single day. To select this day of annihilation of Jews, he decided to cast a lot, pur. Accordingly the date was fixed on 13th of the month of Adar, the 12th month. But God of Jews had a saving plan for the Jews to frustrate their enemies. When Mordecai learned of the decree to annihilate Jews , he tore his clothes, put on sackcloth and ashes, and went out into the city, wailing loudly and bitterly. Then the whole scenario changes upside down.

When ‘’ I AM A MAN’’ try to become ‘’I AM’’
‘’I AM A MAN’’ was a famous slogan raised by civil rights group in America for demanding equal right for Black Africans at par with the Whites. Apparently this was a political slogan raised in an era of apartheid to end the white supremacy over the black, but it has implications much beyond to deal with an issue of every time. At its root is an important theological question of ‘’Godness’’ of God and ‘’ humanness ‘’of Humanity. It is not simply a question of racial discrimination .
I AM A MAN implies that I AM JUST A MAN and not superior than a man. When one race acts as superior and think others as slaves to rule over them , they challenge a fundamental theological demise of creation that God created the Man in His image and all the people on earth are descendants of Adam and Eve. The 1st couples were trapped by Satan to cross the limitations placed on them as humans by enticing them to become like god . The white supremacists believed they could deny human dignity to those they deemed lesser, thereby denying the fundamental Christian theocratic premise of the universal love of god and unity of races in Adam.

Condolence

We continue to pray that the Almighty Lord comfort and console the bereaved family in the days ahead. Kuwait Mar Thoma Parish offer our heart-felt condolence on his sad demise and pray to the Almighty that the bereaved family find the solace in God.
The spirit on prophets who tricked Ahab to Ramoth
In 1 Kings Chap 22 and 2Chronicles chap 18 we see Ahab was tricked to go in for a war with Syrian King. Ahab was one of the worst kings that Israel had and he and his wife Jezebel always did evil things to provoke the anger of God by worshiping the pagan god of Bal and depending on the prophets of Bal.
Because of this persistent disobedience, God planned to destroy him. As there has to be a reason and situation for everything, the evil mind always dig their own pits of disaster. As it is said “ VINASA KALE VIPAREETHA BUDHI’’ suddenly an idea come to his mind. Why don’t I try to capture Ramoth from Syrians ? He asked the help of King Jehoshaphat, the king of Judah to which he agreed. Ahab then called the prophets of about 400 to know if god will give him victory. All of them prophesied , he will win and advised him to go to war with Syrian king and capture Ramoth. Then at the insistence of Jehoshaphat who was a god fearing and good king of Judah , Ahab sent for another prophet , named, Micaiah who told Ahab what was going to happen in War. He told the King that he saw all the Israel is scattered without a shepherd . He also saw the Lord sitting on His throne and all creatures in heaven around Him, and Lord asked who shall persuade Ahab and as they were talking, finally one spirit came forward and said ‘’ I will go out, and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets’’ As God’s will has to be done ,in spite of hearing this truth , Ahab went ahead to Ramoth for war and he get killed there.

Is Church – The Abode of God?
By being Baptized or member of a Church, do not qualify one to be a Christian. It makes one “CHURCHENED” and not “CHRISTIANED”. Christianity, in true sense, is a way of life demonstrated by Jesus Christ in his earthly life revealing the unconditional love of God for the creations.
Church and its history in the medieval period is blood stained as power and money overruled Christian love and peace. Church become institutionalized and way of imposing authority over poor and marginalized. Monarchies with the support of Church waged war on humanity. Crusade, Spanish Inquisition, Goa Inquisition, persecution of reformers, are some of many atrocities committed in the name of Christianity. These Church sponsored inhumanity tarnished the image of Christianity and Christ.
Real and Fake Mother, Son of God and children of devil
As it is today, it was always tricky to discern the right and wrong or to distinguish the real and fake. In 1Kings chap 3 verses 16 to 28 , we see king Solomon facing this situation. Two woman come to him with a live child , each of them shouting and yelling at each other claiming that she is the mother of the live child and other is a fake. Unfortunately those were not times when science was advanced as today with DNA tests etc. So Solomon had to use the god given wisdom to find the real and fake. The King ordered “Cut the living child in two and give half to one and half to the other.” One woman (fake mother) said ‘’Neither I nor you shall have him. Cut him in two’’
